In the Spotlight

Youth Spotlight

In these stories, you can hear the voices of children and teens in Y.O.U. programs as they tell how much they gain from these after-school programs. Listen to their voices describe how their Y.O.U. activities are helping them grow, not only in academic skills, but also in social skills and in planning their future lives.

You can also hear a mother, who came to the United States just two years ago and who is not yet fluent in English, explain how Y.O.U. helps her children feel at home in their new world and also enables her to connect with and support their school experience in their new country.

Y.O.U. Champions

Here you can see stories and comments from just a few of the adults—Y.O.U. staff, families, volunteers, teachers—who help Y.O.U. empower children to grow and flourish. Without such dedicated supporters and involved family members, Y.O.U. could not give 500 young people every year the opportunities they need to realize their full potential. What nourishes them and encourages them to build a positive future also nourishes and builds our community of Evanston.
